HAIMS: Haryana Agriculture Information Management and System
Driving towards precision agriculture with a scientific approach to provide timely and qualitative assistance to the authorities and farmers of the state from sowing to harvest.
Department of Agriculture, Haryana
The problems with the Agriculture sector, which stand in the way of realizing its full potential due to unscientific cropping pattern leading to occasional crop failure, reduced profits and GVA. Considerable crop losses due to lack of timely information on water availability and crop moisture stress. Lack of comprehensive view of the farmers, land holdings and crops sown demands for an effective system implementation and monitoring of benefits/schemes.
The solution leverages crop planning to tell the right crop for a farm with a comprehensive farmer database, unified HAIMS Geoportal, soil health based fertilizer recommendations, scheduling fertilizer indent, harvesting module that provides assistance to authorities and farmers. Integration of various data further caters to crop zone planning, crop loss assessment, crop acreage, yield forecast and insurance advisory.
A Comprehensive Farmer Database with unique identification numbers, proper implementation of scientific crop planning, harvesting assessment and management of interventions. Analytics-based insights with visualization via GIS and MIS dashboards, mobile app leveraged actionable insights on field level activities and raised advisories
Proper crop planning showed a possible increase in GVA. Reduced hassel in harvesting, proper assessment of soil moisture led to better yield. High success rates were observed in cultivation compared to previous data.
